Raavan 2010 Hindi Movie Reviews | Reviews Of Raavan Hindi Movie Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai

Direction/Screenplay: Mani Ratnam
Music: AR Rahman
Dialogues: Vijay Krishna Acharya
Cinematography: Santosh Sivan, V Manikandan
Genre: Drama
Release Date: June 18’2010 worldwide

Raavan Reviews
The filmmaker seems inspired by so many things at a time that he forgets to retain his own USP. There is no punch in the script which doesn’t rise above clichés, no tenderness in the love between Dev and Ragini and no depth to Ragini or Dev’s character as they come across as silent spectators to Beera’s eccentric antics. The ten facets of Beera’s personality too doesn’t stand out.

The film moves you only when Abhishek and Priyamani come to picture. Both actors act superbly and infuse soul into this otherwise lifeless drama. Abhishek walks away with the main role and does a good job as he gets into the skin of his character very well. Wish his character would have been written better.

Ash holds one disgruntled expression on her face throughout and so does Vikram.

The film can be watched for its brilliant cinematography by Santosh Sivan and V Manikandan. Jungles, waterfalls, rains...have never looked so beautiful in a Hindi film before nor has a de-glam Ash in an extreme close up.

Music by AR Rahman is mesmerizing. Behne De, Ranjha Ranjha and Beera Beera are tracks that grow on you and are capable of being listed in Rahman’s all-time hits.

Outfits by Sabyasachi go perfectly with the theme of the film.

We assume Mani Ratnam went through a writer’s block this time around which is natural for creative geniuses of his calibre. We hope he regains his brilliance that gave us Roja, Bombay, Guru and Yuva.

                                                                                                                                           -Indiatimes.com

The story makes you delve into the psyche of Beera who considers himself to be the sole owner of the lush flora surrounded with gushes of backwaters and swift flowing lakes and ponds, doing things which are morally justified but stand against laws!

Veer, the cop tries to over-shadow Beera’s supremacy over such activities by threats. Beera’s anger boomerangs Veer by abducting his wife-Ragini. The story moves on with streams entangled with revenge and love, lust and betrayal. Along with the wrangle between the two protagonists, we also can have our eyes stuck at the spectacular tussle between a wife’s mind and a women’s heart!

As the caption of the Movie reads-“Ten Heads, Ten Minds, Hundred Voices and ONE Man”… is aptly justified in regards to its story line as well as to the epical name with its stunning depiction of the different flavors of the human aspects!

Kites [2010] DVDRip XvID Download From Fileserve | Download Kites [2010] Hindi Movie Free From Fileserve | Free Download Kites DVDRip 2010 Starring Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Modi

 Download Kites 2010 DVDRip

Movie Review

Hrithik Roshan is a dance teacher in Las Vegas, who is also in the business of marrying illegal immigrants in order for them to get green cards. While being at his dance class, a rich casino heiress Gina (Kangana Ranaut) falls for her dance instructor. When J. comes to know of the background of Gina, the lust for green paper makes him play along the romance and marriage game with Gina. But when Gina brings him home to meet the family, J. meets Natasha (Barbara Mori) and discovers a piece of his past. The film travels back and forth time and locations - just as J. and Natasha find love in each other and elope to Mexico to start their live afresh while Tony and his gang is baying for their blood.
Kites may make his fans very happy by the way he has been presented (and he enacted) in the film but those looking out for a never seen been before experience that was promised through its mega marketing blitzkrieg will be in for a major disappointment.
The biggest problem for Kites is its main lead characters played by Hrithik and Barbara lack sympathy what with both being gold diggers. While it may be trying to impress the Hollywood films audience, the basic plotline is extremely dated for a Hindi film. In fact at places you even feel you are watching Koyla in its remixed avatar. Yes it is visually stunning (brilliant camerawork by Ayananka Bose) and Hrithik seems to have given it his all. But the most important factor of the film, the script falters big time and the uneven pacing being the additional issue.

Badmaash Company Hindi Movie Review | Shahid Kapoor Anushka Sharma Latest movie Badmaash Company Reviews

Film: Badmaash Company
Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vir Das, Meiyang Chang
Genre: Drama
Direction: Parmeet Sethi
Duration: 2 hours 24 minutes

Story: Shahid Kapoor and his gang of three friends -- Anushka, Vir Das, Chang -- dream of getting rich quick. Obviously, morals don't have much to do in their show-me-the-money schemes and they set up their million dollar company on umpteen crooked deals. So far so good, but soon power corrupts, the law catches up and family values come in conflict. Can the dream run continue?

Movie Review: They are your average friendly neighbourhood guys: the hazaar Cafe Coffee Day dreamers and diviners who hatch a million plots and plans for a zingy future before their cappuccino gets cold. And they all have one thing in common. They all want the good life fast, any which way, and don't mind breaking a few rules here and there. No nine to five stiff-collared jobs for this Badmaash Company who may have been brought up with middle class values, yet they couldn't care less before dumping them in the nearest trash can. Extra baggage for them, all this blah-blah about imandari (honesty) and izzat (respect).

Hence, the importance of Shahid Kapoor and gang who tell their dads to take a chill pill and turn their backs to papa's punctilious way of life, believing it got him nowhere. In a seminal scene of the film, Shahid watches his mom pawn or sell off her jewels -- or something precious--for a couple of thousands which she hides under pallu, as the duo drive off to the hospital to save daddy (Anupam Kher) who's suffered a heart attack. His eyes well up but his face grows hard, with anger and frustration. Ah! the desperation and the drudgery of the middle class existence....After that, it's mission get-rich-quick all the way, as Shahid embarks upon a dangerous journey with his friends to unleash one shady business deal after the other. The foursome christen their badmaash company as Friends and Co. and hop aboard a roller coaster ride that obviously has no disembarkment point. And, when they've done all the stuff that money can do, they realise they aren't the same simpletons any more. More importantly, Shahid's grown into an egotistical, power-hungry maniac who actually believes he's God! Watch out for this neat little sequence which adds punch to the proceedings.

Indeed, Badmaash Company does have a bunch of riveting scenes, although the story does follow a very predictable line of crime and punishment/repentance.Also, what jars most are the repetitive business deals which form a major chunk of the film and say nothing new, other than the fact that the foursome are building their empire on fraud. The film picks up when the cracks begin to appear and the company breaks up due to internal fission. The chemistry between the foursome does have a dash of energy, although most of the time is spent in song and dance.

Badmaash Company may not be as buoyant as Bunty aur Babli, the original badmash couple in recent cinema, but it does make for some merry viewing.

Performances: Shahid Kapoor does manage to hold your attention in certain sequences, but essentially it's the ensemble cast of Vir Das, Chang and Anushka that creates most of the drama.

Story: Parmeet Sethi makes his debut, both as director and scriptwriter of the film. The story is interesting, simply because it talks of today's youth and their rush to rise to the top.

Cinematography: Sanjay Kapoor captures middle-class Mumbai with credibility, though goes touristy with Manhattan.

Dialogue: Loads of four letter words, freakin', f'of and the rest: Badmaash Company is peppered with aaj ki bhasha

Music: Music by Pritam. Really? Quite un-Pritam like. No chartbusters.

Styling: Urbane and chic, the foursome pass from chokra style to brando-maniacs, minus hiccups.

Prince - Its Showtime Hindi Movie DVDRip Watch Online. Latest Hindi Movie Prince Watch Online. Prince Hindi Movie Reviews

'Prince' boasts some of the most involving special effects ever conceived by Bollywood. Of course there isn't really any acting to speak of, although Aruna Shields and Nandana Sen get to chew Vivek and scenery, the dialogue is pretty much what you'd expect. There is a tremendous amount of shooting and running. You could build a large pond just from the adrenaline we see expended in the course of the movie. Most of the film is good enough that way - dumb, but not boring. But does it have to be so witless, so stupid, so openly contemptuous of the very audience it's supposed to be pandering to? Not by a long shot.

The film borrows heavily from Hollywood's 'Crank'. Prince (Vivek Oberoi) wakes up one morning with a severe bout of amnesia and a gunshot wound on his arm. He realises that he is being simultaneously hounded by the CBI, India's secret service and a shadowy criminal organisation. He also finds out that he has committed the biggest crime in the history of the universe and embedded in his brain is a secret that threatens the ENTIRE human race. Three scantily clad girls (Nandana Sen, Aruna Shields and Neeru Bajwa) wag their tongues and claim to be his girlfriend Maaya. And if it all weren't uncomfortable enough already, Prince finds out that he has only five days to live. Will our hero vanquish the villains and save the human race? Watch the film before acute anticipation turns you into a squeezed lemon.

Action director Allan Aamin and cinematographer Vishnu Rao are the real stars of 'Prince' - if there's anyone who deserves Aruna Shields in a bikini its them. Oscar winner Resul Pookutty's sound design matches big budget Hollywood standards. Editor Nicolas Trembasiewicz could as well have been dropped considering there is no escape from Sachin Gupta's music. Director Kookie Gulati's concept is cookie, he seems so pleased with the fact that he came up with a thinly plausible pretext for this clash of the visual effects that he didn't bother to develop the characters or fashion a plot with any suspense.

Prince It's Showtime Hindi Movie Review

Inspiration today has found itself a new definition in the word ‘replica’ and Bollywood filmmakers are making it apparent. Straight out of the reels of Iron Man, Mission Impossible, Matrix and our very own Dhoom 2, ‘Prince’ is an action-packed thriller that unfolds the six days in the life of sci-fi hero Prince (Vivek Oberoi). Kookie V. Gulati, the debutant director, chips in conspiracy, deceit and deception as the central theme of the movie. Packed with some scintillating actions sequence and sophisticated sci-fi techniques, ‘Prince’ would be a paisa vasool, if you willing to leave your sense of belief at home!

The movie webs around a tech-savvy thief, who is on a pursuit to get back his lost memory and the heist. On the road to discovery, he finds out that he is named Prince and works for a man named Sarang and has a girlfriend, Maya. He also realizes that he is under the hunt of the secret service of India-I Grip, the CBI and the dreaded dons of the underworld equally. Our sci-fi hero has only his instincts to rely on to get away from the entangled web of deception to save himself and the human race, as he is the only one who knows the whereabouts of the heist, which is also the key to get back his lost memory.

‘Prince’, no doubt, has sharp twists and turns, which adds thrill and adventure to the film. What starts as a ‘racy’ affair, loses its charm and tempo in the middle, thereby failing to put up an exemplary show. Though the movie brings in lots of slick gadgets, including a memory-stealing chip, big guns and exploding cars, the end result is a little disappointing. While the dare devil stunts are amazing to look at the big screen, it’s the startling sound effect which needs a special mention. Academy Award winner Resul Pokutty has done an excellent job, by adding to the thrill and excitement of the movie.

Director Kookie V. Gulati has put a decent show with this debut movie and looks like a promising director, except for a few flaws. Coming to the performance, Vivek Oberoi is great in the scenes that are stunt-packed, but has scope for improvement. As for the three lading ladies, Neeru Singh, Aruna Shields and Nandana Sen, the glam dolls of the movie - all that we can say or rather ask is what were you gals actually doing? A special comment for the overall fashion sense of the movie - Grow up, guys! Action is much more than just black leather attires! So, for all you prince and princess out there, if you despise around-the-mill stories and have not watched a movie lately, catch up on ‘Prince’!

3 Idiots Watch Online!

3 Idiots directed by Rajkumar Hirani is yet another big performance by the diretor after Munnabhai MBBS. Infact, something more entertaining than the latter. Borrowing only scraps from Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Five Point Someone’, Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi churn out some delectable idiotgiri, laced with juvenile humour and tear-shedding moments. The only trouble is that the film’s core message is hammered out so many times that by the end it begins to lose its punch.

Paa Movie Review

The film is between a father(Abhishek Bachhan) and a son(Amitabh Bachhan) where the son suffers from Progeria which is a very rare (one in 8 million) genetic condition, with the most visible symptom being aggressive aging. The disease is terminal and those suffering from Progeria on an average live for about 12 - 13 years.
Paa isn’t about the illness but more about a boy (Auro - Amitabh Bachchan) and his family. Auro is a 13 year old suffering from Progeria. Mentally he is his age but physically looks like a 70 year old man. He lives with his mother Vidya (Vidya Balan), who is a doctor. His father Amol (Abhishek Bachchan) is a politician. The movie is about their relationship, struggles, emotions and a lot more.
Paa is a well written and directed film, with adequate amount of emotions, fun and fabulous performances. The second half is brilliant with enough in it to keep you hooked. But the film suffers from a comparatively weaker first half. The pre interval portions deal with Abhishek’s political career and his rivalries, not exactly what you expect while walking in with expectations of a touching father-son tale.

But the second half more than makes up for it and its this half that makes Paa a tremendously satisfying watch. Watch out for the tear-inducing sequences involving Auro and also those light hearted moments all of which are written, executed and performed to perfection.

The music is average. The ‘Mere Paa’ track is good. The makeup by (Domini Till, Christien Tinsley) deserve special mention for turning Bachchan into a realistic looking Progeria patient.

Coming to the performances, Amitabh Bachchan delivers inarguably the best performance of the year. While I would still rate Black a notch higher, Paa is pure brilliance from a legend who is by far the best actor in the industry. Abhishek Bachchan is good, and so are Vidya Balan and Paresh Rawal. But the senior Bachchan’s character is such that it easily out shines the others.

Overall, Paa had potential to be a much better film than it turned out to be. Watch it for the powerful second half and an award worthy performance by the legendary Bachchan.

London Dreams Movie Review

London Dreams is all about two childhood friends who had great passion for music. The friends are Arjun and Manu(Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan) who loved music more than anything. What happens between the two after they become great singers forms the rest of the story.
Vipul Amrutlal Shah has delivered his technically best product till date with London Dreams. But apart from the technique its high on emotions as well. Vipul gives apt time for character development for each of his main protagonists. Devoid of unnecessary melodrama he captures the emotional moments with aplomb. Sejal Shah’s camerawork is of international standards. The night scenes are superbly lit.
Amongst the flaws, the climax is overstretched and the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music not really up to the mark, especially the climax concert numbers. The song that comes after everything is over is too slow and a rousing number would have made for an apt grand finale.
Ajay is excellent in his part and one can see the best villain awards coming his way at the awards for this year. Salman seems to be enjoying himself and is extremely likeable. Though Asin is most of the time relegated to the background she puts up a nice act. Her chemistry with Salman works. Popular VJs Aditya and Ranvijay of Roadies fame make a good debut. Om Puri in a small part impresses as usual.
The narrative has some interesting moments in the first hour, but the actual story unravels only towards the second half. The first half, frankly, only sets things up for the explosive drama that is to follow. The wheels start moving when Ajay plays a vicious game and hatches a conspiracy to ruin his buddy's career.
Both Salman and Ajay vie for top honours. Salman has a role that the junta would take to instantly and the actor too endears himself to the viewers. He's stupendous. When it comes to displaying intensity on screen, very few can live up to the standards set by Ajay. To state that he packs in a power-packed performance would be an understatement. They, in fact, compliment each other wonderfully well.
On the whole, LONDON DREAMS has superb performances from its principal cast and several emotionally-charged sequences as its two trump cards. But its biggest drawback is its climax and also the music, which is the weakest link of the movie. At the box-office, the film should appeal more to the multiplex audience than the masses. Business at big centres, especially at metros, should be better, but mini-metros and towns will be a contrast.

Azab Prem ki Gazab Kahani Movie Review

A hit from Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Rajkumar Santhoshi team is a must watch.Rajkumar Santoshi gave us hard hitting films like Ghayal, Damini. I loved both of them, though knew little of the director. Then, he gave us Andaz Apna Apna and it was one of the mad comedies, which you can watch again and again. After much forgettable Barsaat, he was back with Sunny Deol in Ghatak. I thought, he had a message for the society, for the youth...which he reinforced with Pukar, Lajja, Khakee, Halla Bol. However many of these last films did not get as much commercial success as some of his earlier films. Now, he decides to go back in search of the secret sauce, which can get him commercial success.
Strictly for Ranbir fans, who want to see him repeat the Saawariya act a bit, bit of Raj Kapoor and bit of Charlie Chaplin. I liked him in Wake Up Sid. But, is this funny? Where does it all add up? Katrina does her job, looking beautiful, acting innocent and the quintessential damsel in distress with perfect English accent and somewhat different Hindi accent with added stammering effect.
One of the biggest contributors of the film is its music by Pritam. All the songs are ruling the charts and their positioning in the film and picturisation make them even better.

Ranbir showcases what powerhouse of talent he is. He is not only loveable in the funny moments but is excellent in the emotional sequences. Katrina Kaif is in top form too. She balances her funny portions equally well with her emotional ones. Both Ranbir and Katrina make a wonderful fresh jodi as they share a crackling chemistry. Upen Patel fits the role to the T. Pradeep Kharab as Katrina’s suitor is very funny. Darshan Jariwala and Smita Jaykar playing Ranbir’s parents are first-rate. Zakir Hussain and Govind Namdeo are loud but funny. The actors playing Ranbir’s friends are just too good.

After a real long time a good clean hearted romantic comedy has come to the cinema halls which can be enjoyed with the entire family. Go for it guys. Watch it for seeing Santoshi get back in form and Ranbir-Katrina emerge as the new hot jodi of Hindi cinema.

Wake Up Sid Movie Review

Ranbir Kapoor has delivered a hit this year with the movie Wake up sid. Its a beatiful movie directed by Ayan Mukherjee. Ranbir Kapoor comes up with a neat, simple and believable performance. When most actors would have been happy to establish their standing in Bollywood with a quintessential romantic hero role, Ranbir is anything but a hero here.
There are five things that make “Wake Up Sid” a delightful affair. It has a constant flow throughout; no over the top or understated drama; no ultra emotional strangulation of audiences; absolutely no yuppie cool dude act; and last but not the least, this is an original and refreshing story. This is where young director Ayan Mukerji’s writing comes in handy because unlike a conventional movie, he doesn’t just bring a turnaround in Sid’s character by throwing a song to bring in that ‘overnight transformation’.
The supporting cast fits in well too. The young man who plays Rishi (Namit Das – last seen in “The President Is Coming” as Ramesh) is just effortless. Kashmira Shah, in her four-scenes act, is a pleasant surprise while Rahul Khanna is decent in the limited footage.

While “Wake Up Sid” would of course raise Ranbir’s stock in months to come, it would be noticed in a major way for Mukerji’s script sense and direction. He makes the kind of debut that made Farhan Akhtar hot property after “Dil Chahta Hai”.
The film is technically top notch. The cinematography (Anil Mehta), music (Shankar Ehsaan Loy) and background score mesh together well to create an engaging story told without much flashiness by the director. The supporting performances by Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak (Sid’s parents) and a cameo by Rahul Khanna (Aisha’s jazz crazy boss) are spot on.

Unspooling at a leisurely pace, ‘Wake Up Sid’ is a heart-warming film that leaves you in a wistful mood.

Rocket Singh Movie Review

Ranbir Kapoor is in a high this year with back to back successive hits being generated from him. His latest movie rocket Singh is also an other success from this newbie. Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) passes out his graduation with embarrassing marks. The less ambitious Harpreet unlike his friends doesn’t go in for higher education but opts for a Salesman’s job. He joins AYS, a computer selling firm which has a very demanding boss, Sunil Puri (Manish Choudhary) and an extremely rude and no-nonsense immediate boss, Nitin Rathore. With his competitive colleagues leaving no opportunity to poke fun of the earnest rookie, Harpreet lands in trouble with his seniors over his first client visit itself.
Insulted and demoted, Harpreet then hits upon an idea to start his own parallel business naming his firm Rocket Sales. He gradually ropes in all the key staff members of his own office making them equal profit partners and soon becomes a big business threat to AYS. The rapidly sliding company’s sliding sales figures rattle Puri. What happens to Harpreet and his Rocket Sales team after Puri tries to find who his major competitor is, forms the rest of the film.
The Chak De India writer – director team of Jaideep Sahani and Shimit Amin have delivered yet another remarkable film. Taking situations straight out of real life with kind of characters you and me would have encountered in our daily life and added with some terrific performances, Rocket Singh is undoubtedly one of 2009’s best films. The Sardar character of Ranbir doesn’t appear like gimmick and in fact he hardly speaks a Sardar’s lingo. Just like Chak De, the perfect casting of the ensemble cast (mostly unknown actors) is yet another master stroke by writer-director duo. In fact each of the film’s principle characters have got their ‘one moment’. The film gets straight to the point as in the 10th minute itself as Ranbir begins his innings as a Salesman. Day to day office politics and bitching was never captured so perfectly in any Hindi film before. The film is laced with some really well penned dialogues (Customer ke naam mein hi likha hota hai ‘mar’, Risk to Spiderman bhi leta hai…tum to ek Salesman ho) which evoke guffaws as well as applause at places, the conversation between Ranbir and his boss in the climax being the high point. Salim-Suleiman’s music is apt for the setting and there are no lip-sync numbers.
With this film, Ranbir has cemented his position as a star actor who has the ability to carry a solo film on his shoulders. Manish Choudhary, often seen in TV ads, playing Ranbir’s smirky boss is a great find. The actor with the handle bar moustache playing Nitin Rathore is yet another amazing discovery. His body language and attitude has turned out just perfect. Gauhar Khan playing Ranbir’s fiery office telephone operator is very impressive. Shazahn who plays Ranbir’s client turned girl friend suits the part. D. Santosh and Mukesh Bhatt as Ranbir’s colleagues are excellent too.

Rocket Singh is one film, that Yash Raj Films will definitely be proud to have produced under their banner. Do not miss this film as it actually delivers more than it promises.

Rocket Singh has the ability to inspire millions of our country’s youngsters.

3 Idiots Movie Review

3 Idiots directed by Rajkumar Hirani is yet another big performance by the diretor after Munnabhai MBBS. Infact, something more entertaining than the latter. Borrowing only scraps from Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Five Point Someone’, Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi churn out some delectable idiotgiri, laced with juvenile humour and tear-shedding moments. The only trouble is that the film’s core message is hammered out so many times that by the end it begins to lose its punch.
Salt water is a good conductor of electricity. Everyone’s read it, but Rancho (Aamir Khan) applied it on his ‘pissed-off’ senior to escape getting ragged on his very first day of the Imperial Engineering College.

An Edison-in-the-making, he believes in striving for excellence rather than success, which, in fact, is the core message of the film. But excellence can’t be had if you strive half-heartedly or fearfully or, worst, mechanically. Thereby come in three more characters - Farhan (Madhavan) who wants to be a wild life photographer but is doing engineering to fullfil his dad’s dream; Raju (Sharman Joshi), a poor lad who’s so afraid of failure that his fear has become a self-fulfilling prophecy; and Chatur (Omi) who’s a learning machine adept at mugging up books.
On top of them is the ever grimacing professor Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani), fondly called Virus, telling them that the world’s a rat race in which one has to step on another to get to the top. No wonder the ingenious Rancho is an oddball out in the herd. His questions perplex his professors. And his disdain for the education system that professes learning by rote makes him the arch foe of Virus. Sandwiched between the two foes is Virus’s doctor daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor) who falls for Rancho but has to face up to her eccentric pa at home.
Shantanu Moitra’s music and Muralidharan’s cinematography complement the flick well. Rajkumar Hirani spins a yarn that despite a few botches has its heart in the right place. For this alone, ‘3 Idiots’ definitely ought to be seen and enjoyed.
