Ibiza's Hotels: What Is Available?

By Tom Binns

The choice you have when booking one of Ibiza's hotels is enormous. There is a wide variety of accommodation available to cater to all demands on this island in the Balearic's.

The towns and beach resorts of Ibiza Town, San Antonio, San Jose, San Juan and Santa Eulalia are where most hotels in Ibiza can be found.

There are many types of hotel to choose from in Ibiza; from simple hostels that offer comfortable beds in simple rooms or student accommodation, usually with a good local breakfast in the morning included in the price, to luxury five star club resort hotels with all-inclusive facilities, lots of activities, food and drinks during the whole day. These have luxury rooms, often with a king-size bed, minibar, television and room service available 24 hours a day.

There are also family hotels, conference hotels, party hotels, spa hotels, boutique hotels and agroturism (rural) hotels.

A middle-of-the-range three star hotel will usually have a swimming pool, a restaurant or bar, a communal lobby/reception area and a reception desk in Ibiza.

There are hotels for all sorts of travellers. For families there are hotels with children's swimming pool, play ground, mini club and activity programs. For people who visit the islands for its vibrant nightlife there are hotels that accommodate their own in-house bar or even discotheque. For students there are budget hotels and for people visiting the islands for business there are executive hotels with business and conference facilities. For people who prefer a rural holiday there are special agroturism hotels.

In Ibiza you can book only a hotel room and eat out in restaurants during your holidays, however if you like everything being arranged for you there is the possibility to book accommodation with breakfast, half board, full board and the increasingly popular all-inclusive option. This holiday concept usually includes three meals per day, snacks in between and during the night and drinks such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and domestic alcoholic drinks.

We spend last summer in Ibiza, in a luxury hotel because It was a surprise for my wife. The design hotel was called Ses Pitreras, just 15 km away from Ibiza town. The place was quite nice and stylish, and people working there were kind and helpful. Ibiza's landscape was amazing, and nightlife so vibrant.
