Thanthonni Malayalam Movie Review

Thanthonni is an adventurous venture by the debutante director George Varghese, is a commercial entertainer which has nothing core in its subject. The film reminds one of the old 'thanthonni's' and their movies. There is no credibility in the story line and the film tends to be boring at times because of the repetition feeling.

Any Prithviraj fan will adore the film, for he is seen in a new face. Prithviraj is the most stylish actor now and he is seen in this movie with new attires and style. The storyline easily reminds one of the old movie
Lelam and the role portrayed by Suresh Gopi. But although different in script and storyline, the Pala accent in the movie mesmerize it.Kochu Kunju (Prithviraj) is the youngest member of the wealthy Vadakkan Veettil Tharavadu and he is an unruly and spoiled child, who left home during his early teens and is back after almost a decade. The first half of the film establish the hero, his virtues, his comic credentials, romance and so on.

The whole family was waiting for his consent to share the properties, but then, Kochu Kunju id not turn up for it. He believes only in himself and do not cares for anyone. He does things according to his will. His uncles had hatched a plan to kill his father (Saikumar) and Kochu Kunju had decided that he would amass wealth to teach them all a lesson. That he became and as it turns out to be, without much effort as well.
Director George Varghese did not prove his best in Shahid's weaky script. Sajeth Menon's camera rarely succeeds in presenting visuals and the music by Tej Mervin was a bit added advantage.

Prithviraj's Puthiya Mugham showed him another way but Konchu Kunju failed in implementing that image. His attempted to do comic scenes aided by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Jagathy Sreekumar but was not impressive and lacked natural effect. Sheela, who went off with Maya Bazaar sometime back, is back in this film. The rest of the cast includes Ambika, Saikumar, Captain Raju, Suresh Krishna, Vijayaraghavan and Sudhe
